Tired of feeling tired all the time?  A change in diet may be all you need to turn things around and start feeling better.  This small list contains seven things which should be pretty easy to add to your daily routine and work into your schedule.  You can try one, or try them all, or mix and match to your hearts desire… just let us know how they work for you.

  1. Have a power snack in the afternoon
A smaller healthy snack which is low in sugar and has a proper mixture of protein and fiber a couple hours after lunch can help you finish your day strong.
  2. Eat a ton of berries
Berries that are red, blue or purple are especially useful.  The anthrocyanins which give these berries color are powerful antioxidants which boost energy.
  3. Eat low glycemic foods
Complex carbs  are a longer lasting, slower digesting energy source than the simple sugars found in white bread, white rice, potatoes and foods containing sugar.  Switch to whole-wheat and include fruits and vegetables and you will feel the difference.
  4. Eat smaller more frequent meals
While also a weight loss tip, smaller meals more often provide your body with the nutrition it needs on a more consistent basis.
  5. Eat protein over fat or carbs
Foods with lean protein help you feel fuller, longer.  Protein also helps prevent blood sugar from spiking giving you a more steady flow of energy.
  6. Don’t have a drink at lunch
Just one beer at lunch leads to sedation… the effects of which will take several hours to recover from, effectively killing your afternoon.
  7. Eat Yogurt
The live cultures in yogurt help keep your digestive system functioning in top order.  This makes you healthier and more energetic, it is also a great low-fat, high protein snack.
